Cops: Woman Charged With Leaving Scene After Child Injured
The incident reportedly happened at a bus stop in Westhampton on Friday morning.
A kindergartener reportedly waiting for a school bus on Friday morning was injured when she ran into the side of a moving car, according to Southampton Police.
Police said they received a call at 8:00 a.m. that a child had been hurt on Peters Lane in Westhampton and that the driver had left the scene.
After investigating, police said they found that the child had very minor injuries and her mother told the driver everything was okay.
The driver then left, police said.
Police said they did manage to locate the driver and charged her with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, a misdemeanor.
