Waking up to the Melody of Purple Martins is natures alarm clock to a beautiful day. These birds are the largest member of the swallow family in North America and spend the wintering months in Brazil then migrate to North America to nest. They are totally dependent on human-supplied housing, that my father has provided for the past 3 years at his home in East Quogue, NY. During the construction process of our home Sheridan Green in Hampton Bays, NY we have been fortunate enough to stay at my fathers and enjoy the symphony of the Purple Martins.
