In The Shops: Beach Toys Galore On Main

Looking for something new keep the kids entertained at the beach or in the backyard? Mother Goose Toys in Westhampton Beach just might have what you are looking for.

The Main Street Toy store recently switched over its inventory from toys for younger children to what customers have been asking for - outdoor toys.

"Beach items are flying off the shelves since we switched over our inventory," said owner Alex Dank, who opened Mother Goose Toys in February 2012.

The hottest seller, he said is KanJam, which is a popular beach game that involves a frisbee and "cans" to toss the frisbee into.

Also flying off the shelves are Kadima paddles, pool floats that can be blown up for free, kites, bubbles, soccer and footballs, as well as volleyball, croquet, and badminton sets.

The store also stocks shovels and pails, said Dank, who is a father of two young children.

And for rainy days, Mother Goose toys has a wall of craft sets for all ages, including a new hot item, called a rainbow loom.

"The rainbow loom is going to be very popular," said Dank, explaining that it helps kids to create bracelets with colored rubber bands.

Mother Goose Toys is located at 87 Main Street and is open daily.
