Westhampton Woman First in Line at Joe's; Free Crab for a Year
One local will be camping out at Joe's Crab Shack in Riverhead, and will get free crab for a year, as the restaurant opens its doors tomorrow.
When Joe's Crab Shack – opening in Riverhead tomorrow – announced that the first 100 customers at its grand opening get free food for a year, Westhampton resident Elizabeth Tyson made sure to go early.
Tyson lined up 21 hours in advance of the opening, taking the first spot in line – 15 minutes ahead of the second group – and said she's looking forward to earning her prize.
"I wanted to make sure we were first in line," she said. "They have really good food. It's a great environment, with everybody singing and dancing."
She said her daughter would be coming shortly, and the family was set up with chairs, blankets, and had a DVD player on hand to pass the time.
"We'll definitely make it," she said.
