Shop Owner: 'Get Your Q On'

Marching in the Westhampton Beach annual St. Patrick's Day parade, Theresa Fontana, owner of the Quogue Shop, said she noticed a lack of Quogue spirit.

"There was just me and the Quogue Fire Department marching," she said. "There was no real showing for Quogue."

She quickly put on her thinking cap and decided to go on a mission to put Quogue on the map the only way she knows how - by selling everything Quogue.

And when we say everything, we mean everything.

On Wednesday, Fontana took Patch on a tour of her shop and at every turn, there was yet another item with either the village's name splashed on it or the letter 'Q' for Quogue.

"I want everyone to get their Q on," Fontana said. "Everything in here is fun and affordable."

No item is over $50 she said.

In the shop on Jessup Avenue, customers can find brightly-colored Quogue monogrammed towels, wine glasses, signs, beach and lunch tote bags, mugs, flags, napkins, candle holders, pens, pencils, bumper stickers, hats, as well as T-shirts and sweatshirts.

There is even a pillow adorning the words, "Queen of Quogue" and a shirt with Quogue's speed limit on it - 25 miles per hour.

Fontana was even sure to include kids items - from Quogue sports jerseys to backpacks, baby shirts and hats to "Quogue quackers," she carries it.
