Hampton Bays Library Budget Passes

The $2.04 million budget was supported in a 135 to 24 vote.

On Tuesday, Hampton Bays residents voted to approve the Hampton Bays 2014 library budget.

The $2.04 million budget was approved with 135 residents voting yes and 24 voting no. The budget will go into effect on January 1, 2014.

The budget, which up 1.49 percent or $30,000 from the 2013 budget, Library Director Susan LaVista said will allow the library to "continue its long-standing tradition of excellent customer service, as well provide innovative programs and new materials for all patrons."

LaVista also thanked the community for their continued support of the library.

"We look forward to serving our patrons in the coming year," she said.
