Pit Bulls win! On Saturday, June 15th at Red Creek Park, Skylar Wilkins, (pictured in front) a Hampton Bays 6th Grader, held a fundraiser for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Skylar wanted to help the animals where her mom works, so she invited her school's boys and girls basketball teams to have a fundraising tournament called "Hoops For Pooch." The entry fee was $5.00 and the teams were divided into the Pit Bulls and the Shelter Heat! The Pit Bulls won 36 to 22 and these incredible kids, parents and volunteers had fun! The real winners are the shelter pets! Every dollar goes to their continued care until they find that forever home.
