Wildlife and gardening are my passions ... my challenge is having them peacefully co-exist in the same place!
I live in the charming hamlet of East Quogue in a fairly new community that was once a part of our magnificent Pine Barrens. Natural conservation buffers, filled with tall pines and oaks, as well as bayberries and low-growing blueberry bushes, surround my property. Native plants and wildlife abound. I treasure my land and my joy is in keeping it pristine ... no chemicals ... for it is my personal version of heaven! I love sharing my garden with anyone who wants to visit and my wildlife stories with anyone who wants to listen! My first book, Maria's Duck Tales: Wildlife Stories From My Garden, has taken me on quite an exciting journey. It has won nine national book awards in diverse genres: Nature, Environment, Memoirs, Animals, Pets, eBook and Non-fiction. I am currently hard at work on my second book.
