Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 as a unique property, the museum has 12 buildings that tell the story of Southampton's development. The mansion was built originally in 1843 for a whaling captain. It is a Greek revival-style mansion, currently filled with artifacts donated by members of the local community. Many of these items are from the Victorian era. Rogers Mansion hosts both temporary and permanent exhibits, including a 1890s parlor room and a collection of photographs from 1938's hurricane.
