MUCH ADO ABOUT JOSS WHEDON

Monday June 3 – Friday June 7 @ 7:30pm. Joss Whedon’s take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing opens on June 7 so we’re spending the week before celebrating with films, food, fun and drawings for free movie tickets. Registration required for these programs. Buffy Banquet: Monday June 3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is where it all began. We’ll screen some highlights from Buffy, discuss her progress from cheerleader to feminist icon (doctoral theses have been written!) and have some fun. WHA481 Firefly and Fillion: Tuesday June 4: Ten years later, the short-lived, beloved cowboy space epic is one of the cult classics (a live-action counterpart of Cowboy Bebop). Take a trip with the ultimate space cowboys! WHA482 Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog: Wednesday, June 5. We’ll rock Dr. Horrible and then make Whedonverse t-shirts. You bring the t-shirt and we’ll provide the paint and the template – or you can design your own. WHA483 Shakespeare and Shawarma: Thursday, June 6. Shakespeare and Shawarma. We’re getting serious here: a read-around of Much AdoAbout Nothing. Shawarma will be served. WHA484 The Avengers! Friday, June 7. We’ll screen the movie while you make your own Avengers symbol keychain. And then some of us might be off to a late night screening of Joss Whedon’s Much AdoAbout Nothing!
