Looking for Something To Do This Weekend? Here's Some Ideas

Catch a film at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center or head to a work shop with a holistic health counselor.

It's the weekend — finally — and although it's still pretty cold outside, there's no reason to hit at home. There's plenty of fun, indoor, activities around the Westhampton-Hampton Bays area.

Whatever it is you do this weekend, whether it's game night with the family or a fun night out on the town, post your pictures on social media with the name of your town. We'll find your posts for a roundup on Monday.

So here's five things happening around town:

1. See "White Reindeer" at WHPAC

Who said Christmas was over? This weekend, there are several opportunities to get back into the Christmas spirit with a screening of the film, "White Reindeer" at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center. "As Christmastime approaches, suburban Virginia real-estate agent Suzanne seems to have it all. But after the sudden loss of her husband, secrets are revealed that lead Suzanne to form unexpected friendships while fumbling to find herself among the decadence of department stores, strip clubs and swinging new neighbors. It will be shown on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for seniors, and $5 for film society members.

2. Dinner Theatre Package

If you are one of those who signed up by Jan. 6, you will enjoy The Hampton Theatre Company presents "Heroes: Dinner/Theatre Package." Start with dinner at 1 North Steakhouse in Hampton Bays at 5 p.m., followed by the Hampton Theatre Company’s production of Heroes, Tom Stoppard’s hilarious and poignant translation of Gérald Sibleyras play about three WWI veterans who reminisce about their past and fantasize about their ultimate escape from a veterans home, at the Quogue Community Hall at 7 p.m. This is offered through the Hampton Bays Library, and you must register in advance. Cost is $48 per person, which includes a three-course dinner, tax, tip, and tickets.

3. Shark Tale Movie

For tweens, the Westhampton Library is offering a "Tweens Only Movie Night" on Saturday. "Shark Tale" will be shown, starting at 7 p.m. All kids have o bring is a can of tuna for the local pantry.

4. A New Healthier You

"A New Year: A Healthier Me Workshop" will be offered at the Hampton Bays Library on Sunday at 1 p.m. Holistic Health Counselor Karan Lee explores food, herbal, and life-style choices that pay the biggest health dividends by treating the whole person. Learn practical ways to incorporate these into life routines to yield a happier, healthier life.

5. Auditions for "The Foreigner"

Do you have the acting bug? Then this one is for you. The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for “The Foreigner,” Larry Shue’s hilarious comedy about a shy and awkward “foreigner"’s unexpected adventure in the wilds of rural Georgia. Auditions are Sunday and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall on Jessup Avenue in Quogue. Both union and non-union actors are invited to attend.
