Coming Up This Week: Halloween Happenings and Meet the Candidates Night

Happenings during the week of Oct. 21.

Meet the Candidates at the Hampton Bays Civic Association

On Monday, the Hampton Bays Civic Association is hosting a meet the candidates night. The event will take place at 6:30 at the Hampton Bays Community Center on Ponquogue Avenue. For more information, click here

EEWN Networking Dinner

On Wednesday, the East End Women's Network will hold its monthly networking dinner at The Stadium at the All Star, 96 Main Road, Riverhead at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $45. Find out more here

Other Desert Cities Opening

On Thursday, the Hampton Theater Company will open its new season with 'Other Desert Cities'. The performance starts at 7:00 p.m. at Quogue Community Hall. Find out more here

Eagle Scout Project Fundraiser

On Friday night, Hampton Bays Boy Scout Charlie Schneider is holding a spaghetti dinner to raise money for his eagle project.  The dinner will be held from 4:30 to 8:00 pm at the Hampton Bays Fire Dept. Substation on Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays.  Admission is $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for children under 12.  Take-out is also available.

Halloween Events This Week

— On Monday, teens can learn how to defend themselves against zombies at a program at the Westhampon Free Library that will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

— Teens can learn how to apply zombie make-up at the Westhampton Free Library on Tuesday from from 6:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

On Wednesday, kids can make a spooky Halloween cookie at the Westhampton Free Library from 5:30 to 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

On Thursday, kids in grades K and  up can decorate a pumpkin at the Hampton Bays Library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

— On Friday night, The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will host a  Haunted Path/Sports & Rec Night  at Southampton Youth Services, located at 1370A Majors Path. This safe and supervised event is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and for grades 6th and up.  Admission is $5 and $2 roundtrip  transportation is also available.

On Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, decorate the trunk of your car for Halloween and bring treats for the community. One family member must stay with the car to pass out the treats. The rest of the family can travel from trunk to trunk in costumes to gather the goodies. Pre-registration is required.

On Saturday, the Southampton Youth Services, located at 1370A Majors Path will opens its doors for “Trunk or Treat” from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Decorate the trunk of your car, dress in costume and share in an afternoon of trick or treat from car trunk to car trunk.  There will be prizes for best costume and trunk decoration.  Admission is free.

On Saturday, from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., children of all ages are invited to parade through the Hampton Bays Library and on the library lawn. Be sure to be dressed in your best costume. Registration required.

On Saturday, the East Quogue PTA is hosting a Halloween parade down Main Street with activities to follow at the East Quogue Village Green. Fore more information, call 631-728-5555 or visit www.eqny.com.

On Saturday, The Mark Sinclair Foundation is sponsoring a Halloween Walk-About from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. During the event, children are encouraged to dress-up in costume and trick-or-treat at local businesses that have a pumpkin decal displayed in their front window.

On  Saturday, zombies will be taking over the Westhampton Free Library and teens are invited to help fight them off from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend this program. Register by calling 631-288-3335 X 128.
