With the, the Town of Southampton has opened three cooling centers.
The town will also provide transportation for residents in need to the center. Residents can call the Hampton Bays Senior Center for the shuttle service at 631-728-1235.

The is urging residents to follow New York State Department of Health recommendations during the heat wave, including drink plenty of water, don't leave children or pets in vehicles, if outside, schedule frequent rests in the shade, and if you are prone to the effects of pollutants and asthma, consider consulting your doctor.
