Library Concert Series Set to Kick-Off

Mark your calendar for these summer concerts.

The Westhampton Free Library's annual concert series at the gazebo and Rogers Beach is set to begin on June 22 and run through August. The concerts, which include a weekly drum circle, are in addition to the library's Kids on the Green series and the Westhampton Cultural Consortium's concerts, which are also held at the gazebo.

Registration is required for some concerts.

• Saturday June 22: Mostly Motown with Rhonda Denet and the Silver Fox Songs Trio will perform at at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Westhampton Beach. According to the library, Rhonda Denet is back to lend her rich, velvety vocals to the Motown classics made famous by Aretha Franklin, Martha & the Vandellas, Diana Ross & the Supremes and Etta James. No registration is required.

Saturday July 6: Banjo picker Warren McKnight will take the stage at the gazebo at 4:00 p.m. During the concert, the library will be handing out slices of watermelon. There will also be plenty of games. No registration is required.

Saturday July 20: The New York City-based Shotgun Wedding will perform at the gazebo at 6:30 p.m. Free tickets to this concert must be reserved through the library.

Saturday August 17: The Liverpool Shuffle will perform at 6:30 p.m. at the Rogers Beach Pavilion. According to the library, the Liverpool Shuffle’s first performance at Rogers Beach drew the largest audience in the history of the library's concert series. Free tickets to this concert must be reserved through the library.

Fridays August 9th through August 30: A drum circle, led by Jerome Liggon will start at 8:00 p.m. at the gazebo. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring their own drums. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to attend. No pre-registration is required.
