Hamptons Weekend Guide: Triathlon, Gardens, Comedy & More
Also this weekend, a day-long symposium at Guild Hall will explore a few different thought-provoking topics.
After plenty of rain recently, it looks as though the skies could open up this weekend for a change, and there's plenty going on to do this weekend. So take a look here, and for more events, check out our calendars on East Hampton, Southampton, and Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch.
EAST HAMPTON
• The Audience: A live screening of 'The Audience,' in which Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II, will be broadcast at Guild Hall Friday at 8 p.m. The production, being broadcast at hundreds of theaters around the world, will be performed live at London's Gielgud Theatre. Admission is $18, or $16 for Guild Hall members.

• Garden Tour: The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons is holding its 27th Annual Garden Tour on Saturday. A self-guided tour through six gardens runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a cocktail reception after at a private home. Tickets for the tour are $75, and $125 for the tour and reception.
• Symposium: A one-day symposium consisting of three panels at Guild Hall on Saturday will focus on several topics: the relationship between the U.S. and China, climate change, and public education. The discussions kick off at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $20, $18 for Guild Hall members, per session, and is free for students.

• Meet the Democratic candidates: East Hampton Democrats are holding a fundraiser on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Race Lane Restaurant. Candidates will be on hand to meet with individuals. Cost to attend is $45 in advance, $50 at the door.
WAINSCOTT
• Paddling for a cause: Main Beach Surf & Sport will sponsor a fundraiser to benefit Paddlers for Humanity on Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. The stand-up paddleboard race kicks off at Beach Lane.
SPRINGS
• Artists' reception: An opening reception for a painting exhibit as Ashwagah Hall will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Gabriele Raacke's 'At the Circus' paintings and Phyllis Kriegel's 'After Baubo' series will be on display.
• Turbo Tri: A 300-yard swim, 7-mile bike ride and 1.5-mile run – a "turbo triathalon" will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m., at Maidstone Park. Proceeds will benefit i-try, an intervention program for at-risk teenage girls. Cost is $120 per participant.
SAGAPONACK
• Clean-up: Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt will be cleaning up Old Farm Road starting at 8 a.m. Saturday. Bring gloves.
• Madoo Garden Party: The third annual event at Sagaponack's sprawling conservancy includes lectures and courses in cooking, mixology and more. Costs vary.
BRIDGEHAMPTON
• Dance party: Join DJ Karin Ward for a dance party Friday night at 7 at the Bridgehampton Community House. Admission is $25, with beverages available from Montauk Beverage, Lady Root Beer and Hampton Water.
• SoFo fundraiser: The South Fork Natural History Museum will host its annual fundraiser on Saturday, its 24th such event. The party will honor Susan Rockerfeller, with last year's honoree, Christie Brinkley, on hand as well. Tickets are $250 to the event, which takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the museum.
SAG HARBOR
• Paul Reiser: The stand-up comedian and actor will take the stage at Bay Street Theatre on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $62 for members and $69 for non-members.
WATER MILL
• Gatsby Party: Wölffer Estate Vineyard is hosting a Gatsby Party on Friday at 8 p.m., with prizes going to best costume, and featuring a DJ, dancing, wine and more. Cost is $35.
SOUTHAMPTON
• Comedy Night: Hamptons House of Gardens is hosting a comedy night on Saturday, starting at 7. Mary Dimino and Meghan Hanley will be performing. Cost is $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
HAMPTON BAYS
• Softball-a-thon: Organized by Kids Stock the House, which raises funds for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, a softball tournament will be held on Saturday at the Red Creek softball fields. Cost is $20 per player and a $10 spectator fee.
WESTHAMPTON BEACH
• Concert: Grammy-nominated guitarist Ottmar Liebert will be at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 to $55.
