Green Door Market Café Offers Free Smoothies on Last Day of School

Grab a free smoothie and head to the beach.

In their seventh season, the owners of the Hampton Bays-based , Eileen and Peter Charos, are offering free smoothies all day to students and teachers to celebrate the last day of school. 

"We live here in the community, we get a lot of business from the community and have had students work for us. We thought this would be a nice thing to do for them," said Eileen.

While she said she has no idea how many smoothies she will give away, Eileen is guessing that the market's strawberry/banana and capuchino smoothies will be most requested.

"They are our most popular," said Eileen, who also servies up piña colada, strawberry and peach smoothies with either low-fat yogurt or ice cream.

But whatever the day brings, Eileen says her staff can handle the influx of customers.

"We expect that people will come in at different times, teachers later in the day and others on their way to the beach," said Eileen, who business also provides free .
