Indieflix Brings the Film Festival Experience to Library Patrons

Suffolk County Public Library patrons will soon have access to the new film service IndieFlix,

Beginning May 1, Suffolk County library patrons will have access to IndieFlix, a new online streaming service that provides access to independent films, shorts, and documentaries on computers and mobile devices.  Through Live-brary.com, IndieFlix allows library card holders to view movies screened at more than 2,000 film festivals worldwide.

Users can search for titles or apply a variety of filters, such as genre, intended audience, or film festival to find films that will appeal to them. Each title also includes a text summary along with a listing of cast, crew, and awards won.  IndieFlix enables users to submit films they have created or produced to be evaluated for inclusion in the IndieFlix catalog.

“IndieFlix provides our patrons with high quality independent movies not otherwise available online,” said Suffolk Cooperative Library System Director Kevin Verbesey. “This is a new and unique service that allows film lovers to discover the best and quirkiest movies being produced.”
