The Westhampton Aviators lost to the Riverhead Tomcats, 8-4. on Tuesday at a game at Hite Field in Westhampton, according to Hamptonsbaseball.com.
The website reported that the Tomcats jumped out to a five-run lead and never looked back.
Riverhead received a lift from the Aviator defense, which committed six errors. Eric Schlitter (Bridgeport) had an RBI single and later scored during the Tomcats' four-run third inning that put them up 5-0.
Riverhead scattered 12 hits throughout the night, including two apiece from Schlitter, Eric Romano (Franklin Pierce), Steve Dill (Harvard) and Ryan Lukach (Hartford).
Marc Rutledge (Dowling) earned the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
