The First Annual Community Softball-A-Thon is to be held in Hampton Bays at Red Creek Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by Kids Stock The House, a fundraising organization that supports the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, and all proceeds and pledges will go to their benefit.
Billy Dzanoucakis, an eigth-grade student at the Hampton Bays Middle School developed the idea for the softball-a-thon only a few weeks ago. He enlisted the help of a few close friends, and now teams as far away as the Bronx are coming to participate in the days event.
