Every local business has a story worth sharing with the community.

Our spotlight today is on Julie Levine.

Business: Organize My Life
Owner: Julie Levine
Website: www.organizemylifeny.com
Address: 46 Old Country Road, Westhampton, NY 11977

How did you come up with the name?

The work that I do encompasses so many different aspects of putting peoples personal and financial business in order so that they are freed up to enjoy their life and spend time doing that things that matter most to them. I handle everything from bill paying and cost savings, Medicare and Long Term Care insurance billing, organizing advanced directives, support with funeral preparations, even divorce support. I am a resource for every aspect of your life.

Why choose that location? Why start a business in this town?

I spend half my life in NYC and the rest in Westhampton. I love this town and as it relates to my business, there are not enough services for seniors. I am a daily money manager and certified senior adviser and am committed to growing the support network for seniors on the East End.

Briefly, what business are you in?

Daily money management, working with seniors and other busy professionals

What's the most difficult moment or challenge you've faced as a business owner?

I have many clients in NYC where they understand what a daily money manager is. On the East End, there is more of a learning curve.

Were there any challenges that made you second guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?

I had a long and successful career in the music and entertainment business, but after my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, my priorities changed. Leaving the security of the corporate world was a little tough, but when you know you have found your calling, you just have to move full steam ahead.

What's been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?

My favorite moment happens every day, when I see my clients exhale and relax, knowing that their issues are handled. Creating peace of mind is for my clients - there is nothing better.

What's the most innovative idea your employees or customers have had that you put into practice?

Organize My Life Data File...Call me and I'll fill you in.

How do you deal with difficult customers?

First off, I don't take it personally. Most importantly, my clients know that when they sign on to work with me, they have agreed to accept my coaching and suggestions. If I see a client heading down a dark tunnel I will remind them of what their goals and agreements are. If they cannot get out of their own way, I will resign. Thus far, this has only happened once. My business grows by word of mouth. I am committed to producing incredible results, so if I cannot help you, I will not take you on.

How does your business give back or get involved in the community?

I volunteer with the ADRC - Alzheimer's Defense Resource Center who do incredible work right here on Long Island. They are also committed to supporting the East End and have a center here in Southampton. I am excited about an announcement I will be making  shortly about my company's affiliation with the organization.
