The Westhampton Beach School District has hired a new assistant principal for its middle and elementary schools.
According to the school district, Maria Dorr will replace Brian Naughton, who resigned the post in early September, citing personal reasons.
After a search, the school board hired on Dorr at a salary of $105,000. She will officially start on Dec. 3.
According to school officials, Dor, who resides in Baiting Hollow, is currently the supervisor of ELA, reading, and ESL for the South Huntington School District.
Prior to that post, she was the coordinator of reading and compensatory services for the Rocky Point School District. She also has ten years teaching experience as a reading specialist.
