Valedictorian and Salutatorian Named in Hampton Bays

Sarah Reed, has been named valedictorian and Anthony Romagnoli, salutatorian.

During Tuesday night's monthly school board meeting, the Hampton Bays School District named this year's valedictorian and salutatorian.

According to Christopher Richardt, principal of Hampton Bays High School, Reed is being honored as the school's valedictorian for her academic achievements, as well as her leadership contributions.

Richardt says, Reed has a weighted grade point average of 107.3 and is currently awaiting admissions decisions from Harvard, Yale, Brown, Princeton, Dartmouth, and NYU.

During her tenure at Hampton Bays High School, she has been president of the HS band, treasurer of chorus, a student council officer, a member of the district's budget advisory committee 2010-201, played on varsity track, assisted the principal by serving on teacher hiring committees (summer 2011) and volunteer for Lighthouse Mission and Helping Hands.

Romagnoli, says Richardt, has a weighted grade point average of 102.9 and is currently planning to attend the United States Coast Guard Academy.

"As you could imagine, he is an outstanding young man with an impressive resume of activities and accomplishments," said Richardt.

Romagnolo, said Richardt is an Eagle Scout recipient, placed 3rd in Suffolk County in the VFW's Voice of Democracy essay writing competition, is captain of the Varsity Wrestling team, is a member of the fire explorers, and served as an ocean lifeguard for the Town of Southampton for the past two years.
