The Westhampton Beach School District showed school spirit on Friday with a pep rally and homecoming parade that was inspired by Nickelodeon.
According to the district, each class designed their parade float around a Nickelodeon television show with the freshman float featuring “Jimmy Neutron,” and the sophomore float, “The Fairly OddParents.” The juniors' float featured “Rocket Power,” and the senior theme was “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
The parade was followed by a homecoming football game where spirits were high despite a tough loss of 27-0 to the Harborfields High School Tornadoes.
The Westhampton Beach High School football team is now 1-1 with a season opener win at Comsewogue on Sept. 7.
The Hurricanes, led by varsity head coach Michael Potter, will next travel to Bellport to take on the Clippers for a Section XI Division III game on Saturday.
