Letter: Help Fund the Hurricane's Greenhouse

See video of the 'green' fence.

The Hurricane Educational Foundation is excited to once again announce the kick-off to its annual community-wide Spring fundraising campaign, “Green Days.”

In addition to yearly senior scholarships and teacher-student mini grants, the Foundation is continuing to raise funds toward the purchase of a greenhouse that will be used by students in all three of our schools.

Green Days sprouted on Earth Day with the installation of our “vine” onto the fence on Mill Road and it will continue to grow until Labor Day.

To help celebrate and build upon our “greenness,” students will decorate the school fence along Mill Road with the names of all of the community members, families, and businesses that make contributions of $50 or greater to the Green Days’ initiative. Last year we raised nearly $10,000, but we need to keep going in order to raise the $50,000 necessary to purchase and install the greenhouse.  Every gift to the Foundation, regardless of the amount, is greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged on our webpage.

Help make our community even greener than our school colors suggest.  Please find the inspiration to donate to the Hurricane Educational Foundation’s Green Days’ campaign through the district website at www.whbschools.org.  Click on “community,” and then “Hurricane Educational Foundation” or if you prefer, simply mail your donation to: The Hurricane Educational Foundation, Inc., P.O.
