Nicasia Beebe-Wang Named Intel Finalist

Nicasia Beebe-Wang, a senior at Westhampton Beach High School has been named an Intel finalist, one of the nation's most prestigious pre-college science competitions.

Beebe-Wang is among a handful of other Long Island students and 300 across the country to receive the honor and now has the opportunity to compete for scholarship money — 40 of the 300 students will be named finalists on Jan. 23.

Beebe-Wang, whose project focused on cocaine addiction and how it affects the brain is the first student from the Westhampton Beach School District to ever be named as an Intel finalist.
