Hampton Bays Teacher Named in Whole Foods Nominate A Teacher Campaign

Joan Moran selected among 22 other tri-state teachers.

Whole Foods, a retailer of natural and organic foods and a sponsor of the Stone Barns Center has announced that Joan Moran, a teacher, has been named a winner in its Nominate a Teacher campaign.

The program, which kicked off in March, asked students to nominate teachers who inspire them.

Moran was named along with 22 other teachers. They will all have the opportunity to attend a three-day seminar that focuses on sustainable agriculture to support classroom initiatives about .

During the conference, Moran will be able to explore and study crops, animals and food resources available in New York at the Stone Barns Center.

“This program seamlessly aligns with our community to sustainability and eating healthy” said Kaitlin Morre, marketing team leader for Whole Foods in Lake Grove. “We look forward to teachers being instrumental advocates in their communities for healthy lifestyle and choices.”
