Hampton Bays Announces Fire Prevention Contest Winners

Also announced were November and December's students of the month.

At it last board meeting, held on Jan. 14, the Hampton Bays School District announced this year's annual fire prevention contest. 

This year, three students from each grade were recognized for fire prevention posters that they designed. The students were awarded with engraved medallions, trophies and gift certificates to Skidmore's Sports. 

And the winners were: 

  • Kindergarten: Madelyn Francolini, Zoe Guastella and Matthew Zheng
  • First grade: Alan Ramirez, Tifany Gomez and Yusabeth Contreras
  • Second grade: Allison Sequeira, Eskarli Banegas and Riley Mitchell
  • Third grade: Joscelyn Sandoval, Christopher Martinez and Marelyn Bonilla
  • Fourth grade: Hayden Bevis, Lily Simpson-Heavey and Diego Escalon
  • Fifth grade: Teresa Lauther, James McGregor and Emma Naclerio
  • Sixth grade: Nicholas Corredor, Marissa Kennedy and Diego Vivar
  • Seventh grade: Domenico Pensa III, Rachel Reycroft and Marley Montague
  • Eighth grade: Lindsay Dunn, Daniel Dimijian and Nicholas Fotopoulos
Also recognized during the meeting were the district's students of the month for November and December.

Novembers students of the month are second-grader Elise Flynn, seventh-grader Riley Tupper and senior Kasandra Phillips and December students of the month are first-grader Edward Reyes-Lopez, eighth-grader Kenia Torres and senior Adem Hadrovic.

All of the students received a plaque.
