Westhampton Beach Village Hires Contractor to Train New Clerk
It is unclear, however, who Kathy McGinnis will be training. A new clerk has not yet been named.
At a meeting that was intended to be for executive session items only, the Village of Westhampton Beach opted to hire former village clerk Kathy McGinnis to oversee a transition when Clerk Rebecca Molinaro leaves for a postion in East Hampton Village on May 1.
According to Molinaro, the Wednesday night meeting opened to the public when Trustee Hank Tucker brought a resolution to hire McGinnis to the floor — the resolution had been pulled from the floor two weeks earlier when Tucker brought it up, prompting fierce contention and debate.

On Wednesday night, the resolution, which hires McGinnis, at a rate of $60 per hour, not to exceed $7,500, passed with Mayor Conrad Teller and Ralph Urban voting, no.
Both Trustees Tucker and Patricia DiBenedetto, said McGinnis, who worked as a clerk in the village for 16 years, will help with a smooth transition.
McGinnis, DiBenedetto said, was similarly hired as a contractor when Molinaro was hired.
However, it is unclear who McGinnis will be training — the Mayor has yet to appoint a new clerk. He could not be immediately reached for comment.
