Westhampton Beach Village Budget Comes In Less Than Anticipated

Board approves budget with 1.73 percent tax levy.

Village of Westhampton Beach board members have approved the village's 2012 budget and Westhampton Beach Mayor Conrad Teller says it came in under what he originally anticipated.

Teller said the final $9.5 million budget represents a 1.74 percent tax levy increase rather than the 1.90 percent tax levy increase that was in the mayor's tentative budget.

Teller says the decrease comes from the elimination of two part timers, as well as a full-time employee, which saved the village $92,580.

The budget also reflects increases to the village's legal line; a mandatory $10,000 upgrade of police radios; and increase costs associated with contracts and retirement.

The budget also includes funding for road repairs to Debbie Lane and Tuthill Lane and for deck improvements at Rogers Beach.
