Westhampton Beach Choir Singer Performs During Inauguration Festivities

Students from the Stony Brook School Chamber Choir performed in Washington D.C.

Sydney Braat, a student from Westhampton Beach, was among the 16 members of the Stony Brook School’s Chamber Choir to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony.

The Chamber Choir was invited to perform at the inauguration after members performed in New York City for a Worldstrides Heritage festival last March. According to a statement released by the school, the choir joined 40 other ensembles from all over the United States invited to attend.

The Chamber Singers sang a South African song called Bonse Aba and played traditional musical instruments from South Africa during their performance, which took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a report on News12.
