County to Make Repairs to Post Lane Bridge

Bridge access will be closed off, starting Nov. 18.

Starting next Monday, motorists looking to access Dune Road via the Post Lane Bridge in Quogue will have to use another bridge.

According to Quogue Police, the Suffolk County Public Works is set to start a scheduled bridge repair project that will close all access to the draw bridge.

Officials from DPW said the $3.1 million project will result in concrete and steel repairs; electrical and mechanical upgrades and re-painting.

The project is expected to take 7 months with a bridge re-opening in May 2014.

Until the project is finished, those looking to access Dune Road are advised to use the Beach Lane Bridge in Westhampton Beach or the Ponquogue Bridge in Hamptom Bays.
