Springville Road to Be Paved

New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle says he has secured a grant for the work.

Springville Road in Hampton Bays will be soon be paved, according to New York State Senator Kenneth LaValle, who says he has secured funds for the job.

In a statement to the media on Monday, LaValle said that NYS Department of Transportation has set aside funds, in the amount of $400,000, for the project.

"This critically important state funding helps Southampton maintain and
repair it’s highway infrastructure,” said LaValle.

Highway Superintendent Alex Greger, who requested the money along with Assemblyman Fred Thiele, said he was pleased to learn that funding is now available.

"This money will enable the Southampton Town Highway
Department to pave additional roadways and further assist us in improving
road infrastructure and vehicular safety," said Greger.

Southampton Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst was equally pleased.

She said, "The students and residents of Hampton Bays who walk and travel Springville Road daily will be very well served by the improvements this funding will provide."

Is a sidewalk included in this paving? Just a matter of time before someone gets hit.

Excellent thought about SIDEWALKS, I drive Springville al the time and there are always people walking or jogging.

please do not paint a green line down the center, that honor belongs to the Emerald Highway me freinds!

Springvile Road desperately needs sidewalks, now would be ideal before the paving begins. The amount of people that walk on Springville daily, not counting the families for parades, San Gennaro, etc, warrant this work.
