Springville Road to Be Paved

New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle says he has secured a grant for the work.

Springville Road in Hampton Bays will be soon be paved, according to New York State Senator Kenneth LaValle, who says he has secured funds for the job.

In a statement to the media on Monday, LaValle said that NYS Department of Transportation has set aside funds, in the amount of $400,000, for the project.

"This critically important state funding helps Southampton maintain and
repair it’s highway infrastructure,” said LaValle.

Highway Superintendent Alex Greger, who requested the money along with Assemblyman Fred Thiele, said he was pleased to learn that funding is now available.

"This money will enable the Southampton Town Highway
Department to pave additional roadways and further assist us in improving
road infrastructure and vehicular safety," said Greger.

Southampton Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst was equally pleased.

She said, "The students and residents of Hampton Bays who walk and travel Springville Road daily will be very well served by the improvements this funding will provide."
