Southampton Town Will Offer Amnesty for Unpaid Parking Tickets

There will be a 30-day window to pay off overdue parking tickets without penalties.

In an effort to collect on old parking tickets, the Southampton Town Board voted June 12 to approve an amnesty program that grants amnesty to those who were ticketed between June 1, 2008, and December 31, 2011.

The will pick a 30-day window when, for a $5 service fee, participants can pay their original summons amount without any accumulated penalties. The window has not opened yet.

Correction: A previous version of this article erroneously stated that the amnesty had already begun. The court has yet to set a date.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
