Southampton Looks to Sell Community Center

The Town of Southampton is thinking about unloading its Mill Road Westhampton Community Center, which it purchased in 1987 from the American Legion Post, which still uses the building.

According to an article on 27east, town board members discussed the idea of selling the property and building a new community center further down the road at a recent work session.

The report indicated that a refurbishment of the building would prove to be too costly and that the town had been thinking about build a western community center, complete with an indoor pool on six acres it owns near the Westhampton Beach Elementary School.
