A Hampton Bays resident and small business owner is preparing to run against Assemblyman Fred Thiele this fall, according to an article on 27East.com.
Jeremy Brandt, a 36-year-old owner of Brandt Plumbing, is a former Sag Harbor resident who moved to Hampton Bays with his family after the cost of living became too much to bear, the article states.
“If you spend so much time in Albany, you lose touch,” Brandttold 27East . “There is no way not to. My generation’s voice needs to be heard.”
Thiele, I-Sag Harbor, has represented the South Fork since 1995. A spokeswoman did not comment on Brandt's reported run.
