Sandy Aid Command Center Coming to Riverside/Flanders

Help is coming once again to the Riverside and Flanders communities that felt the impacts of Superstorm Sandy.

Help is once again on the way for residents and business owners hit hard by Sandy in the Riverside and Flanders area.

Governor Andrew Cuomo wil deploy a New York State Department of Financial Services mobile command center to the community next week.

The DFS mobile command center will be set up at the David W. Crohan Community Center on Flanders Road in Flanders on June 12 from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.

In response to requests from residents, Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst arranged for the command center to come to town.

Trained representatives will be onhand to help homeowners and business owners affected by Superstorm Sandy to apply for recovery aid that was approved by the federal government last month, process SandyHelp applications, and assist with insurance-related issues stemming from Sandy damage.

Those residents who have already applied for assistance will also be able to receive a status of their applications as well as help in determining next steps.

Those who have suffered losses because of Superstorm Sandy, as well as Hurricane Irene, can access additional information and fill out an application by clicking here or by calling the hot line, 855-NYS-SANDY.  The hotline is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
