Readers On Political Signs: 'Take Them Down With 24 Hours'

Some are asking at least before Christmas.

Many people have been upset about the number of campaign signs that have remained up after elections conclude, stating that it is the equivalent of litter.

Now that Election Day is over, what do you think is a reasonable time frame for all the political campaign camps to start cleaning up those yard and pole signs used in the campaign? One week? 48 hours?

We asked Patch readers to chime in the question and here's a few of the responses:

Kimberly Lake Riccio 24 hours...actually really think they shouldn't be allowed to put them out in the first place.

Stacey Reister ASAP! And I find all junk mail so annoying! Everyone constantly preaches "go green. Recycle. Reuse. Save trees. Help the environment. Etc", yet our mailboxes are filled with tons of flyers everyday. So much for going green.

Laura Saulle Schmelzer They should clean it up right away. They should have a reasonable time to take them down, if after a certain date, fine them for each sign that has to be removed. Feel the same about the yard sale signs that are up for months.

John Guerin They should be out cleaning them up today and I mean the candidates them selves !!!

Subi Chockalinga Before Christmas would be great! Why not start now

We want to know what you think is a good time frame to get the signs taken down. Click here to access our Soapbox - Gov't Matters blog or tell us in the comments section below.
