PHOTOS: Retirement Party Held for Councilwoman Nancy Graboski

After serving Southampton for 26 years, Graboski will retire at the end of December.

About 150 people gathered at in Hampton Bays on Nov. 10 to wish Councilwoman Nancy Graboski's a happy retirement.

Graboski, of Bridgethampton, whose second four-year term on the Southampton Town Board ends on December 31, 2011, has provided 26 years of community service on the Southampton town board, planning board, and Suffolk County Planning Commission.  

Graboski and her husband, Benny, a potato farmer, have raised four children and now have four grandchildren. 

During the party, guest speakers lauded Graboski's integrity and accomplishments. Those speaking included, former town supervisor Linda Kabot, Councilman Chris Nuzzi, Councilman Jim Malone, Highway Superintendent Alex Gregor, and Environmental Advocate Kevin McDonald.  Former Deputy Supervisor Robert Ross served as Master of Ceremonies and Graboski's Legislative Secretary Sandy Sullivan helped to coordinate the event with Kabot and Graboski's daughter, Carol Coles.
