PHOTOS: Linda Kabot's Supervisor Campaign Kicks Off

Fundraiser held at Oakland's Monday.

Linda Kabot, the former Southampton Town supervisor, kicked off her campaign to reclaim her old job with a fundraiser in Hampton Bays Monday.

Incumbent Republicans, GOP hopefuls, members of the Southampton Town Republican Committee and other supporters of Kabot's candidacy joined her at Oakland's Restaurant.

"The number of people here tonight just confirms my belief that there is a strong desire for taking back the town and delivering more responsive representation,” Kabot said in her remarks.

The 2013 election is the third time that Kabot faces Independence Party member Anna Throne-Holst, the current supervisor. Throne-Holst, of Noyac, ousted Kabot from office in 2009. After the GOP failed to field a supervisor candidate in 2011, Kabot waged a write-in campaign. Kabot now returns to the fray with the Republican nomination in hand.

Also on the Republican ticket are Town Council candidates Jeff Mansfield, the vice chair of the Bridgehampton Citizens Advisory Committee, and Stan Glinka, the vice president of the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce. They face Democratic nominees Brad Bender, a Northampton resident who is a member of the Independence Party and a second-time candidate, and Frank Zappone, the deputy town supervisor who is a Democrat and resident of Shinnecock Hills.
