More State Aid Delivered to Local Libraries, Schools and Arts Center

State Sen. LaValle says local libraries, school districts and the Westhampton Beach performing arts center will receive additional tax relief from the state.

State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, R-Port Jefferson, announced Tuesday that the and the , as well as the ,  and libraries have been awarded additional state aid — on top of the typical state aid formula.

LaValle said the cash will provide tax rate stabilization and relief for taxpayers. The aid to local libraries is a modest $2,200 each and the Hampton Bays School district and performing arts center will each receive $25,000.

, offered the following statement: "The Westhampton Free Library and our local taxpayers can use all of the assistance possible from Albany and we are very thankful to State Sen. LaValle for securing this funding and for his longstanding support of public libraries. Public libraries are the foundation of the community and with assistance we are able to make more things possible for our community. "
