Mark Your Calendar: Upcoming Town Youth Programs

Events include a recreation night, talent competition and snowboard trip.

The Southampton Youth Bureau has several upcoming events for area kids, including a recreation night, talent competition and snowboard trip.

The following is a round-up of those happenings:

Sports & Rec Night

A Sports & Rec Night for students in grades 6 and up will be held on Dec. 6 at SYS, 1370A Majors Path, Southampton from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.  Kids can play dodge ball, basketball & kickball. Admission is $5 per person. Transportation is also available for $2 roundtrip. For more information please call 631.702.2425.

Ski, Snowboard, Snow Tubing Trip

The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau is sponsoring a ski, snowboard, snow tubing trip to Camelback Mountain Resort, Tannersville PA on Jan. 25 for youth 12 years old and up or younger with an adult.   The fee includes roundtrip transportation, lift ticket and sport of choice.

The following options are available:

  • $75 Ski/Snowboard with own equipment
  • $100 Ski/Snowboard equipment rental              
  • $12 to add tubing (note 15people minimum must sign up for this sport)
  • $10 Helmet rental required 

Bus will depart from Red Creek Park in Hampton Bays at 6:00 a.m. and return to Red Creek Park at approximately 9:00 p.m. Chaperones will be provided by the Youth Bureau.  Meals are not included, bring cash for food and or bring a packed lunch.  For more information, call (631) 702-2432.

Hamptons Got Talent

Open auditions for the first ever Hamptons Got Talent Competition will be held on Feb. 28 and March 7 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Ave. Students in grades 5-12, residing in the Town of Southampton are eligible to enter the audition to showcase any of the following talents: singing, dancing, instruments, comedy, magic, or poetry.  Contestants must bring to the audition any music they plan to perform to without vocals.  Finalists selected will perform in the Hamptons Got Talent Competition to be held April 26 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. For additional audition information and application, please call the Youth Bureau at (631) 702-2432.

Skating Trip

A skating trip to United Skates of America in Seaford is set for Feb. 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for youth in grades 5-12. The cost is $20 fee and includes transportation, admission, regular skate rental, unlimited pizza and soda plus 5 game tokens.  Transportation schedule and registration form available online by clicking here.
