As the liaison to the Westhampton Beach Parks and Beautification Committee, Trustee Patricia DiBendetto, says she is looking to bring the renovation of Glover's Park to fruition, but she said, she'd like public input.

"I'd like to see it become a reality by next year," said DiBendetto. "But, input from the public is what we need."

DiBendetto said she would like to see the property, which was acquired by the village in 2009, used as a passive park with a gazebo  — a public place with Wifi access where the public can sit have lunch and just relax.

She also suggested that the park require as little maintenance as possible as to keep costs down.

Deputy Mayor Hank Tucker agreed and offered, "Perhaps some cement checker and chess tables that can't be moved. People can also sit and play cards."

DiBendetto says she would like to see the village board hold an August work session with time dedicated to discussing various proposals for the park.

In March, the village discussed using $100,000 to renovate the park to accomodate live music with an architect agreeing to draw up plans pro bono.

There are landscape plans and architectural plans already in place for the parcel that seemed firm and funded. What happened to that plan?
