Assemblyman To State Liquor Authority: Pull Dream Night Club's Licence

Assemblyman Fred Thiele has written a letter to the State Liquor Authority asking that they pull the club's liquor licence.

State Assemblyman Fred Thiele says he has joined a fight to ensure that the New York State Liquor Authority revokes liquor licence.

To do his part, Thiele says he has sent a letter to the liquor authority requesting that the Hampton Bays-based night club no longer be allowed to serve alcohol.

"The police have been over there, there has been a murder there and there have been major complaints about noise and disruption of peace and good order from neighbors," said Thiele, adding. "This has been a contant problem."

Thiele said he sent the letter recently at the request of the Town of Southampton, which he said has also been working with the liquor authority.

"It is rare that that the town asks for this kind of help from this office," said Thiele.

So far this summer, the town's code department reports it has not issued the popular club any summonses; however, last last summer, cops were at the location multiple times, making , charging the and responding to .

Neighbors also reported disruption to Patch last summer with one Canal Road East resident, venting about Club Dream customers, saying “They’re pretty rude: they park in our driveway and throw bottles on our lawn. They have the whole bay to park along and a parking lot. I don’t know why they have to be in the driveway. I wake up, and then they drive away.”

And on Oct. 29, 2010, Carolo Petrusa, 64, of Riverside was shot and killed at a costume party at the club by a man dressed in a costume from the 1995 movie "Dead Presidents." That case remains unsolved

In the past, the owner of the club, Frank Vlahadamis has blamed police activity at his business on retaliation

He did not immediately return calls this week.

According to Thiele, before Dream's licence can be revoked a series of hearings must take place.

Calls to the State Liquor Authority were not immediately returned.
