41 Tons of Garbage Collected During Great East End Clean-Up

53.3 pounds of plastic bags were also grabbed.

During Southampton's Great East End Clean-Up event, held over the weekend, residents went to work, cleaning up parks and public right-of-ways. 

The following is what they collected and brought to area dumping stations, according to Southampton's Waste Management department.

• Municipal Solid Waste (garbage) – 41.85 tons

• Plastic Bags - 53.5 lbs.

• Metal – 1.62 tons

• Tires – 25

• TV’s – 20

• Other Electronics – 15

• 1 air conditioner

• 1 dehumidifier

• 1 mini refrigerator
