Westhampton Beach Police: Cyclist Hit by Lincoln Wednesday Night

A 52-year-old man was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for a leg injury.

A 52-year-old man from Eastport riding his bike across Old Riverhead Road was hit by a 2001 Lincoln Wednesday night around 10:10 p.m.

There were no criminal charges or vehicle and traffic violations issued after the accident, Westhampton Beach police said.

The Eastport man suffered what appeared to be a broken leg, but was conscious following the accident and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, according to police.

The man driving the Lincoln, a 26-year-old from Brentwood, was making a left onto Old Riverhead Road from traveling Montauk Highway. The cyclist was heading west, police said.
