Westhampton Beach police say they have arrested Trevor Harris, 37, of Westhampton, on burglary and grand larceny charges.
Police say they nabbed Harris after they found he entered an unoccupied home on Beach Lane and using the homeowner's car, police said.
Police believe Harris gained access to the home and the car through a back window or door.
"He was using it as a flop house," said Chief Raymond Dean, who also noted that this is not the first time that police have caught Harris in a home that did not belong to him.
"He is a repeat offender," said Dean.
Police arrested Harris on the street in front of the home.
