Westhampton Beach Village Police: Eastport Man Attacked at Jonesy's

Two men wearing black attacked a 47-year-old Eastport man as he was walked out of Jonesy’s October 5, according to a report filed with Westhampton Beach Village Police.

The Eastport man was leaving Jonesy’s on Montauk Highway at around 10:35 p.m. when two men walked up to him and said “Remember me?,” according to the report.

The two men punched and kicked the Eastport man, according to the report, filed by a 53-year-old woman from Westhampton Beach who saw the incident. There was also another witness, a 46-year-old woman from Eastport.

After the tussle, the Eastport man suffered a small scratch and contusion, but refused medical attention, police said. The trio saw the men in black drive away in a silver Toyota.

Village Police, who interviewed the victim and the women at the 46-year-old woman’s Eastport home, noted in his report that they all appeared intoxicated.

They gave police a partial license plate, but it yielded no results helping officers track down the attackers, police said. Village Police are investigating.

Property Damage Near High School

Police are stationing extra patrols on Lilac Road after a homeowner there complained of finding Ziploc baggies filled with a white, powdery residue.

A 53-year-old woman from Westhampton Beach told Village Police on Thursday October 6 at 5:28 p.m., that she recently found a village garbage can thrown in her bushes and Ziploc baggies with white powder inside on her property. She also told police that someone also drew with markers on her Belgian blocks.

Stolen Car Found

Officers from Suffolk County Police Department’s second precinct in Huntington reported to village police Friday that they found a car reported stolen from the Westhampton train station in late September.

A 43-year-old man from Manhattan told Village Police on Sept. 24 that his 2004 Volvo was missing from the Westhampton Long Island Rail Road station, located at the end of Depot Road. His family’s nanny parked it in the lot sometime between September 18 and September 21, according to police reports.

Suffolk County Police found the car on Brooklyn Avenue in Greenlawn Friday. It is impounded at the second precinct’s yard, police said.
