Westhampton Beach Police Log: Rogers Avenue Burglary Reported

Also this week, a 28-year-old was charged with driving while ability impaired.

The following is a round-up of arrests made by the Westhampton Beach Police Department as well as incidents reported over the past week.

• On Aug. 23, a Rogers Avenue homeowner reported to police that sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. someone entered her home and stole a charm bracelet and two pairs of gold earrings Police said the home's doors were left unlocked and there was no forced entry. Police are investigating.

• On Aug. 31, Police charged a 28-year-old man for driving while ability impaired a violation. Police said they stopped the man for speeding on Montauk Highway and failing to stop at a stop sign.

• A 23-year-old Shirley man was charged with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 31 at 12:30 p.m. after police stopped him at the Long Island Railroad platform for driving a dirt bike with no helmet or plates. Police said the man gave them his cousin's name because of a parole warrant he had for a previous burglary.

• Police charged a 22-year-old man on Sept. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana a violation. Police said they pulled the man over for not wearing a seatbelt on Montauk Highway.
