Westhampton Beach Police Log: Hit and Run, Larceny and Drug Arrest

Hit And Run

Westhampton Beach Police are investigating a hit and run that was reported on Nov. 12 at 11:55 p.m.

According to police, the victim, a 26-year-old male of Westhampton Beach, told police that he was riding his bike on Montauk Highway near Hazelwood Avenue when a red Toyota struck him from behind and continued heading west.

Police said the victim suffered injuries to his face and both hands and was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Drug Arrest

On Nov. 13 at 10:20 p.m. police arrested the passenger of a car that was stopped on Sunset Avenue. Police say during the course of an investigation, the passenger, Kelly-Ann Lynn, 42, of Center Moriches handed police a crack cocaine and a crack pipe. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Grand Larceny

Police say they are investigating a report filed on Nov. 9 that involved the theft of a pocketbook from an unlocked Mercedes SUV, containing $300 in cash.

Police say the car was parked in the south lot just off Main Street and that the incident occurred around 5:39 p.m.
