Westhampton Beach Police Log: Drug and Weapons Arrests

Westhampton Beach Police reports through Dec. 3.

Editor’s Note: The following information was supplied by the Westhampton Beach Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• Nicholas Brown, 25, of Selden, was arrested and charged on Dec. 30 at 10:28 a.m. with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle, all misdemeanors. Police said they initially pulled Brown over on Old Riverhead Road for speeding. When Brown was asked to exit his car, police said a hypodermic needle dropped from his lap. Wax paper folds were also found in the car, police said. Police did not indicate the type of drugs found. Brown was released on $3,000 bail.

• Jose Guadalupe- Lerma, 22, of Riverhead, was charged on Dec. 21 at 11:14 p.m. at the Los Tres Diamantes restaurant at 279 Montauk Hwy. after police were called to a report of man, dressed in military garb, with a gun.

Police said Guadalupe allegedly threatened a restaurant patron in the parking lot with an air gun, asking for information about a customer inside the building. He also brandished the air gun inside the building. Police said they charged Guadalupe-Lerma with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal impersonation, all misdemeanors.

Police said Guadalupe-Lerma was released on appearance tickets after they took him to the hospital because he was complaining of chest pains. He is due in court on Jan. 9.
